Wairarapa College set the stage with 129 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Caleb Freeman took 2 wickets for 13 runs.

In reply, Kuranui’s opening batsmen Jonty Ariell and Caleb Freeman made it all look easy, cruising to the target in 17 overs and reaching 133 for none.

A great finish for this Kuranui Team who have shown an impressive amount of commitment and dedication buoyed on by their enthusiastic coach Cole Freeman.

Once again, an improved display by Kuranui particularly with their sharpened and frugal bowling.

Top Run scorers were Gracyn Evans with 16 & Cameron Wilson with 14.

Kuranui’s first game played was against Makoura College Seniors in the Wairarapa Secondary Schools Competition held at Wairarapa College.

Despite being down 2-4 at half time our boys tightened up their defence and a runaway try by Tristan Flutey right on the full time whistle brought the final score to a 5 all draw.

Try scorers – Brock Loader, Kaleb Burt, Tristan Flutey (2), Gracyn Evans.

A huge thank-you to Fiona Higgison for your huge input (managervan driverphotographer).

Game 2 of the Competition,  Kuranui Touch team stepped their game up a notch against a fiercely competitive Wairarapa College Seniors side. Kuranui led 2- 1 at half time and had to work extremely hard to keep the lead and take the eventual win 4 tries to 3.

Tristan Flutey again stood out with his very quick feet and equally quick thinking scoring 3 of the tries and Kyle Loader with an impressive sprint for the 4th.
