Kuranui College is set in a dynamic, rapidly changing and growing community – the Southern Wairarapa. Our co-educational college offers the warmth, encouragement and intimacy of a small school whilst being able to implement some of the most innovative teaching ideas in New Zealand. The location and facilities are second to none and the teaching is of the very highest standard.
We believe it is critical that we teach our students to be flexible, life-long learners. They must be equipped with excellent literacy and numeracy skills and the techniques required to sift through the enormous amount of knowledge now instantly available. They must be capable of making informed judgements about information. It is a priority of Kuranui College to ensure that our students receive these progressive, yet essential, skills by encouraging inspired and forward-thinking 21st Century teaching.
Kuranui believes that students should leave the college having developed the desire to strive for excellence, the ability to communicate ideas effectively and the wish to conduct their everyday lives with integrity.
Our school ethos is “Be the best you can be! Whaia te iti kahurangi, ki te tuohu koe, me maunga teite!”
